After adding adding a DataNode on a fresh added host/node to the ambari hadoop-cluster, the startup of the datanode failed.
The log says: “Path xxx should be specified as a URI in configuration files”
Quite strange since it is a clean node, i just added after installing the OS (CentOS 6.6)
The solution i found:
- -umount the hdfs-data-partition
- format it
- mount
- start the DataNode
Don’t know if it was coincidence, because it doesn’t make any sense to me, but it worked out.
